How is Prolific doing these day?

I have been hearing a bit about Prolific, I also do a bit on Clickworker so wondering if it’s worth registering for Prolific. I see a lot of the posts in here are from quite a while ago, is it an active site at the moment?

It is what it is. It's not as steady or consistent as mturk. That being said I usually see a bunch pop up, and some of them pay more than mturk, some of them don't. It's not a waste of time if that's what you are asking. If you're gonna sign up get the prolific assistant extension for chrome and it usually (sometimes) notifies you of new things. I leave the page up on my phone and you don't have to switch to the tab, but when you hit the "..." On chrome it will have a (1) or (2) on the prolific page that I leave up if there is anything there.

I have noticed some things are also on MTurk, but not all. In two weeks I have earned 30 pounds ($38), with 5 pounds pending approval. Hope this helps.

I haven't been making much on that site, i also am very weary of doing hits without knowing how long it's gonna take .

You shouldn't be concerned about them. They have ALWAYS paid the amount owed me without fail. You just have to be on top of it, to capture the hits.

I have been using prolific since about April or May. I like that site quite a bit. The only gripe I have about it is that I don't find that there are a ton of jobs or surveys for me personally.. But at least I'm not wasting my time only to be disqualified. They just pop up when there is one available. There is an extension available called prolific assistant which will notify you with a sound and a desktop notification when a job comes up and that helps. As long as your browser is open.

I would have to agree with you Cheryl. I usually leave my window open for prolific and keep my speakers up so I can hear the new hit come in. You sometimes have to be fast. The screen will not refresh very quickly but if your lucky you should catch the hit. I would also recommend you watch your mail also. Many times they will tell you when work is coming.

Prolific is one of my preferred survey sites. They give you surveys and don't redirect you to other survey sites. Most survey sites are aggregators but prolific isn't. They don't have a lot of work, BUT the work they do have pays very well. I recommend them highly.\

I use Prolific and its very hit and miss. Last week I ended up with $69 (US) and this week I ended up with $5.64 (US) lol so it's so inconsistent in my opinion There is a chrome extension I found and also I notice if I pull Prolific on my phone browser there are studies that appear there and not on prolific sometimes. So, yes I like it and its worth it but only sometimes

I signed up for prolific a couple of years back. Didn't do much with it back then. May check it out more soon since I'm told that some now former mturk members are heading in that direction.
